Questions & answers
Before you ask.

Getting started
What is Deskcue?
A request bell for your workplace. Members send what they need from their seat in two taps; the phones of the stewards who serve them ring loudly, and the first steward to tap I've got it brings it to exactly where they sit. Admins run the workplace: who joins, and who does what.
How do I set up my workplace?
In the app, choose Set up my workplace and give its name, your name and your department. You become its admin, and Deskcue makes a six-character invite code you can share from the Workspace tab with everyone who should join.
How do I join with a code?
Choose I have a code, type the six characters with your name and department, and tap Ask to join. An admin approves you — and decides whether you join as a member or a steward — and the app opens your workplace by itself the moment they do.
Requests
What are usuals?
Usuals are the things you ask for again and again, saved once in your own words — "Black coffee, no sugar", or anything else you always ask for. Each can carry an optional default note that goes with it every time, and stewards see your words exactly as you typed them.
How do I send a request?
Tap + on a usual, add a note or switch on Urgent if it helps, and tap Send. Where you sit goes with every request (the app asks once, then remembers), and if you just need someone to come over, Call the steward sends straight away.
Can I take a request back?
Yes — tap Withdraw while it's still waiting for a steward. Once someone has accepted it, they're already on it, so it can no longer be withdrawn.
What happens after I send?
You follow it live on your Home tab: ringing, then the name of the steward who has it, then on the way. When it reaches you, tap Got it ✓ — your confirmation is what closes the request and credits the steward with the delivery.
What does it mean when a request is declined?
It means the steward couldn't do this one — and they always say why. A steward can't decline without typing a reason, and it reaches you in their own words, with their name; tap OK once you've read it.
Stewards and zones
What happens when a steward takes a break?
They tap On break? at the top of their queue, and their phone goes quiet while the other stewards on duty keep taking requests. If everyone is on a break, requests still queue and wait for them — and members can always see who's on a break under On shift today in the Workspace tab.
What are zones?
Zones are optional areas, such as floors, for bigger workplaces. Admins create them and choose which zones each steward covers; members pick the zone they sit in, and their requests ring the stewards covering it. If none of those stewards is available, every other steward on duty is rung instead, so nothing is left stranded.
Why does a steward's phone need notifications on?
Because ringing their phone is how requests reach them — with notifications off, nobody can. If they're off, Deskcue shows the steward what's wrong with a button that opens the right setting, keeps their queue closed until they're on, and lets admins see whose phone can't ring.
Guests
How do guests ask for something?
Each room can have its own printed QR poster, made by an admin in the app. A guest scans it with their phone's camera — no app, no account — and taps one of the suggestions your admins have set, writes their own, or just asks someone to come, then follows it live until it's delivered.
How many guest requests can we take?
Each workplace has a daily allowance of guest requests by plan — Free 5, Team 25, Business 100 — counted from the workplace's own midnight. When it's used up, the room's page says so until the next day; your members' own requests are never limited.
Plans and your account
Is Deskcue free?
Yes, for up to 10 people, forever — with every feature. Bigger teams choose a plan on our pricing page; the subscription code arrives by email, and the workplace's owner or a global admin enters it under Workspace → Plan.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Workspace and tap Delete my account: your profile, your usuals, the requests you placed and your sign-in are erased at once (an owner hands the workplace to someone else first). If you haven't joined a workplace yet, tap Sign out, then Delete my account instead. Our Privacy Policy sets out what we store and why.
How do I get in touch?
Email [email protected] — questions, ideas and problems are all welcome.
